How to reach Barcelona

The Barcelona airport (abbreviation: BCN) is located in a nearby town, El Prat de Llobregat, and is served by all major European carriers and many low-cost airlines. The centre of Barcelona can be easily reached via public transportation (bus or train: less than 12 euros round trip). A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs approximately 45 euros (depending on traffic; rates higher at night).

Barcelona is also relatively close to two other airports that are served by low-cost airlines, especially during the summer months. The airport in Girona (abbreviation: GRO) is approximately 1 ½  hours north of Barcelona. There is regularly scheduled bus service between Barcelona and the Girona airport. The airport in Reus (abbreviation: REU) is approximately 1 ¼ hours south of Barcelona.
